Cris Cabianca

Born in the city of São Paulo, Brazil into a family of poets and musicians, it’s only natural that the arts and music have always been important in Cris Cabianca's life. At the age of 8 Cris began her piano studies. At the age of 12, she started acoustic and electric guitar classes. Fueled by a fascination with Broadways musicals, she dedicated time to dancing and singing lessons. At 19 Cris traveled to New York City to study. When she returned to Brazil she continued her studies at the renowned Companhia Casa de Artes Operária where she worked with Brazilian theatre masters Ana Taglianetti, Paula Capovilla and Saulo Vasconcelos. Cabianca’s studies include the Souza Lima Musical Conservatory  under the guidance  of Rafael Dantas and Gilson Nery where she received the title of  Best Featured Singer” for the musical "Evita".

Professionally, Cris has staged and starred in a series of theatrical shows and adaptations of Broadway musical hits in Brazil. She has worked with nationally renowned Brazilian directors Silnei Siqueira, Ednaldo Freire, Ana Taglianetti and Yacov Hillel in standout shows like “West Side Story”, “The Secret Garden”, “Cinderella”, “Pluft the Little Ghost”, “Hair” and “My Fair Lady”.

Her debut album, entitled CRIS CABIANCA, and produced by Corciolli, presents a fusion of Brazilian rhythms with elements of world music, rock and folk.

Cris Cabianca's debut album is an exceptionally original creation that combines a fusion of Brazilian rhythms with elements of diversified musical styles. Featuring seven original songs by Cabianca, two original songs by renowned composer/producer Corciolli, and a charming bossa–nova arrangement of the traditional tune Scarborough Fair, Cabianca delivers a unique vibe with a voice full of personality and an album brimming with harmoniously fresh arrangements.
